Join us for the adventure of a lifetime as we make our way to Australia and New Zealand!
1 OVERNIGHT FLIGHT: We will pick you up with our Sunshine Motorcoach where you will be welcomed by your tour Escort who will remain with you throughout the entire tour. We will then proceed to the Airport for our overnight flight to Australia and New Zealand. We cross the International Dateline and skip a day ahead.
2 TRAVEL DAY: We lose a full day traveling.
3 CAIRNS: Your Australian Adventure begins in Cairns, the tropical getaway to one of the world’s most spectacular natural attractions – The Great Barrier Reef. Established as a marine park in 1975, the reef is a haven for thousands of species of sea life, as well as turtles and birds. Your dinner is included tonight.
4 GREAT BARRIER REEF: Today is yours to enjoy this beautiful area. You will have the opportunity to choose from several options in this area that will be provided to you upon arrival. Breakfast and Lunch will be included today.
5 CAIRNS: This morning is yours to explore the town at your own pace or simply relax and soak up the tropical atmosphere. You will have the opportunity for an optional tour on the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway for an unforgettable experience that takes you above the rainforest canopy for a birds-eye view of unspoiled natural beauty. This afternoon we visit Hartley’s Croc Farm for a chance to get up-close with crocodiles in their natural habitat. Your breakfast is included today.
6 CAIRNS / MELBOURNE: Today we will leave Cairns behind and fly to the beautiful Victorian city of Melbourne. Set around the shores of Port Phillip Bay and the Yarra River, the city exudes a lively and cosmopolitan atmosphere. Today’s breakfast and dinner will be included.
7 MELBOURNE: This morning we set out on a city tour and see Fitzroy Gardens, valued for their historic and horticultural significance, the bustling “laneways” of Melbourne. Later you may participate in an optional tour to Phillip Island, a renowned nature reserve and home to the world’s largest colony of Little Penguins; protected and studied by rangers, hundreds of them waddle out of the sea and cross the beach to their burrows in the dunes; at the interpretation center, you have a chance to learn about the lives of the little penguins and their significance to the area. Your breakfast today will be included.
8 MELBOURNE / ALICE SPRINGS: It’s on to the vast landscapes and tranquility of the Outback. We will take a flight to Alice Springs where we will meet the young Aboriginal group, Drum Ateweme, a musical group comprised of At Risk Youth from the local community. Tonight we continue our cultural immersion with a memorial Bush Dinner set against the backdrop of this unique desert environment. Today’s breakfast and dinner are included.
9 ALICE SPRINGS: Today a Specialist Guide will join us and share Aboriginal creation stories and explains everyday life. This afternoon you will discover a more modern side to outback life when you visit the Royal Flying Doctor Service, a lifeline to thousands across the vast terrain of Central Australia. Later we will tour the Old Telegraph Station and Anzac Hill with its excellent views of Alice Springs and the surrounding area. Your breakfast will be included today.
10 ALICE SPRINGS / ULURU: Today we will drive to Uluru in the heart of the Australian Outback. This huge monolith and the sandstone domes known as Kata Tjuta were created through the process of upheaval and erosion. We will witness a truly majestic sunset accompanied by a champagne toast. Your breakfast will be included today.
11 ULURU / SYDNEY: Today we say farewell to the quiet of the rugged Outback and fly to Sydney, an energetic metropolis. Upon arrival in Sydney we will enjoy dinner in the bustling Darling Harbour restaurant area. Today your breakfast and dinner will be included.
12 SYDNEY: This morning a local resident will join us for a tour of Sydney. We will begin with a driving tour of the landmarks of Sydney before disembarking for a walking tour. We will see Kings Cross, The Harbour Bridge, Circular Quay, the Botanical Gardens and Fashionable Paddington. We will stroll through “The Rocks” Sydney’s oldest district. Next we will discover one of the world’s most fascinating architectural sights on a Guided Tour of the SydneyOpera House, poised majestically on Sydney Harbour. Your breakfast will be included today.
13 SYDNEY: Deepen your exploration of Sydney’s many wonders with a day of leisure. Tonight we will say farewell to Australia by chatting with new friends and taking in the sights during a delightful dinner cruise of Sydney Harbour. Your breakfast and dinner are included on this day.
14 SYDNEY / CHRISTCHURCH NEW ZEALAND: Leave Australia behind and fly to the historic city of Christchurch, New Zealand. Devastated by an earthquake in early 2011, we see firsthand how the “Garden City” is recreating itself during a sight-seeing tour that highlights the cities magnificent gardens and elegant park district. Your breakfast is included today.
15 CHRISTCHURCH / FRANZ JOSEF GLACIER: Today we will take in marvelous snowcapped peaks, rugged mountains, and beautiful river gorges as we cross the Southern Alps. We arrive in the Franz Josef Glacier Region, which offers travelers a rare opportunity to experience a living glacial landscape in a temperate environment. Your breakfast and dinner will be included today.
16 FRANZ JOSEF / QUEENSTOWN: Today we will make our way to Queenstown watching the amazing landscape unfold before our eyes as we pass through the rainforest, bordered by the Southern Alps and the twisting coastline. We will cross jade green glacial rivers, view thundering waterfalls and enjoy dramatic changes in scenery. After crossing the Haast Pass we will arrive in Queenstown – one of New Zealand’s prettiest towns. Tonight we will ascend the mountainside on a cable car for dinner at the skyline restaurant.
17 QUEENSTOWN / MILFORD SOUND: Today we will journey to Milford Sound and soak in the rugged grandeur of the Hollyford Valley. We will enjoy a cruise of the breathtakingly beautiful Milford Sound with rock faces that rise nearly 4,000 feet on either side. Your breakfast and lunch are included today.
18 QUEENSTOWN: Your last day in Queenstown will be yours to do whatever you please. You will have a variety of additional options available to you on this day.
19 QUEENSTOWN / MOUNT COOK: This morning we set off for the beautiful 19th century gold rush settlement of Arrowtown, a boomtown during the 1860s gold fever. Next we will enjoy a tasting and tour at one of New Zealand’s famous wineries. This afternoon we will visit New Zealand’s Mount Cook. Your breakfast and dinner are included today.
20 MOUNT COOK / CHRISTCHURCH: Today we will return to Christchurch and pay a visit to a working farm. We will watch New Zealand “strong eye” sheep herding dog hard at work, followed by a sheep herding demonstration. Tonight you will get a special treat as we dine with a New Zealand family in their home. Your breakfast and dinner is included today.
21/22 TOUR ENDS / FLIGHT HOME: We will depart for home with wonderful memories of the Australian Outback and New Zealand.
