NEW ENGLAND / VERMONT / NEW HAMPSHIRE
1 MARYLAND / PENNSYLVANIA / NEW YORK: Today we head North through Maryland, Pennsylvania, and New York on our way to spend the night in Stockbridge, Massachusetts.
2 STOCKBRIDGE / NORMAN ROCKWELL MUSEUM: Today we travel to Stockbridge, Massachussets and travel some of the most scenic back roads in the Berkshires. We stop at Tanglewood, the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and “Stockbridge Bowl” a beautiful, scenic lake. We tour the Berkshire Cottages, summer homes of American Aristocracy. After lunch we visit the Red Lion Inn and see the famous “tea pot” collection. Also we tour the Norman Rockwell Museum with the largest collection of Rockwell’s on display in the world. We check into our hotel in Stockbridge. Dinner is included tonight.
3 VERMONT / NEW HAMPSHIRE: After breakfast we visit Bennington Apple Barn and enjoy a narrated bus ride to the top of a 300 acre Apple Orchard. We return to the Apple Barn & Country Bakery Shop for tasting and shopping. Later we travel to Woodstock, Vermont for lunch on your own and to see a Vermont Covered Bridge. We visit a working Maple Sugar and Cheese Farm. We enjoy a Sugar House Tour and afterwards visit Quechee Gorge, Vermont’s Little Grand Canyon. We overnight in New Hampshire.
4 WHITE MOUNTAINS / NORTH CONWAY / MOUNT WASHINGTON RESORT / TRAMWAY /MOOSE TOUR: Today begins another day of beautiful scenery. We travel the Kancamagus Highway – “One of the most scenic routes in America”. We have free time in North Conway for lunch and shopping. before stopping at Mount Washington Resort and touring the hotel. This afternoon we ride the Tramway to the top of Cannon Mountain for a spectacular view of the rugged mountain scenery. Dinner is provided tonight before we experience an Evening Moose Tour. We will look for these gentle giants in their natural habitat. We overnight again in New Hampshire.
5 VILLAGE MARKET / CRANBERRY BOG / STORYTELLING: Today we travel to Wareham, Massachussets and have time in the Village Market, a year-round village store with locally grown and produced products. Afterwards we tour a Cranberry Bog where we learn the history of cranberry making. We continue to Providence, Rhode Island and check into our hotel. Tonight we enjoy a New England 3 course Old World Style Dinner at Pot Au Feu. Here we have the unique experience of hearing delightfully entertaining stories from Bo Burke, historian. This should be an enchanting evening.
6 FEDERAL HILL / ALBANY: Today we enjoy a stop at an old fashioned Bakery on Federal Hill. Federal Hill is the Italian Section of Providence. We then continue to Albany, New York for the night.
7 HEADING HOME: Today we head South for home with all of our fond memories of the beautiful sights in Vermont and New Hampshire.
