TRAINS OF NEW ENGLAND

Come with us for a Train Adventure! Take in the beauty of New England while riding the rails. Enjoy  Massachusetts, Maine and New Hampshire all on this once in a lifetime tour!

1 NORTH BOUND: This morning we head north making our way through Virginia and Pennsylvania on  our way to Secaucus, New Jersey for the night.

2 BOSTON: We depart this morning making our way toward Boston, MA. Upon arrival in Boston, we will  be joined by a Local Guide for a tour of this historic city. We will visit the Old Statehouse, Old North Church, Quincy Market and much more!  We will spend the night in the Boston area.

3 AMTRAK / KENNEBUNKPORT: Today we will board the Amtrak Downeaster Train  and head north to Maine. We will arrive in Kennebunkport where a Local Guide will join us for a driving tour of the coastal  villages of Kennebunk & Kennebunkport. Tonight we will enjoy a classic Downeast Lobster  Bake. We will spend the night near Ogunquit, ME.

4 CONWAY SCENIC RAILWAY /CAFE LAFAYETTE DINNER TRAIN: This morning we depart our hotel  and board the Conway Scenic Railway. We will depart on the Notch Train traveling on what was once  the Maine Central Railroad’s famed Mountain Division line, on tracks that were laid in the 1870’s. Along  the way we will visit Fadden’s General Store as well as the Maple Sugar House and Museum. Tonight, we enjoy dinner on Cafe Lafayette Dinner Train. These beautifully restored Pullman Dining Cars are the perfect setting for dining on the rails. We will overnight near Lincoln, NH.

5 LAKE WINNIPESAUKEE / DINNER TRAIN: Today a Local Guide will join us as we travel south to  Winnipesauke and enjoy a scenic oneway ride on Lake Winnipesauke, one of the largest lakes  enclosed in one state. We will arrive in the port of Wolfeboro where you will enjoy lunch and shopping  on your own. After lunch, we will tour the Wright Museum, a museum about the WW II years with war and aircraft exhibits. This evening we will arrive at Meredith Station to board the Winnipesukee Railroad Turkey Dinner Train for a two-hour trip along Lake Winnipesaukee heading back toward Lincoln, NH where we will spend another night.

6 VERMONT / BERKSHIRES: We depart the hotel this morning heading toward Bennington,  Vermont  where we will enjoy lunch at the Publik House. After lunch we will visit Hemmings Automobilia where we will have our fill of automotove memorabilia with 27 vintage automobiles. Then it’s on to Bennington Apple Barn where we will enjoy a narrated bus ride of their 300-acre Apple Orchard as well as Apple  Pie A La Mode! Tonight, Dinner will be provided for you at Alice’s Restaurant.  We will overnight near  Great Barrington, MA.

7 BERKSHIRES: A Local Guide will join us today for a Fall Foliage Leaf-Peeper Tour! Our drive along  the scenic backroads in the Berkshires includes a stop at Tanglewood and Stockbridge Bowl – a beautiful scenic lake. We will also visit the Berkshire Cottages as well as the town of Stockbridge, the  picture postcard town where Norman Rockwell lived. We visit the Norman Rockwell Museum as well as visit the Red Lion Inn to view their antique teapot collection. After lunch we will make our way back to Secaucus for the night.

8 HOMEWARD BOUND: This morning we head for home traveling through Pennsylvania remembering all the beauty and excitement of seeing New England by the Rails!
