1 MOUNT AIRY:
We depart this morning and make our way south travelling through the Blue Ridge Mountains tothe small quaint town of Hillsville, VA. While in Hillsville we will stop at the J. Sidna Allen House. This beautiful Victorian home was built in 1911 with the finest materials. The house was only occupied for 1 year before the family lost it due to an involvement in the the Mount Airy Museum of Regional History before checking into our hotel in the area for the next 2 nights. Dinner will be provided for you tonight at The Depot Restaurant before attending the Andy Griffith Show Lecture by the Arthur of Mayberry 101, Neal Brower.
2 ANDY GRIFFFITH MUSEUM / SNAPPY LUNCH:
Today we will experience a full day of touring Mount Airy and learning more about the show we love, The Andy Griffith Show! Our first stop will be at the Andy Griffith Museum where we will get to view multiple collections featuring hundreds of items from the life and career of Andy Griffith in movies, television and music. We will provide you lunch today at Snappy Lunch where you can enjoy their famous “ Pork Chop Sandwich”. This afternoon you will also get to go for ride in a Mayberry Squad Car to Andy’s homeplace as well as Floyds Barber Shop and Wally’s service station. We also visit Pilot Mountain Winery before providing you dinner tonight at Dodge City Steakhouse. Your entertainment tonight will be Comedian John Floyd, The Mouth of Mayberry.
3 HOME:
We depart Mount Airy this morning riding back through the Blue Ridge Mountains with ample memories of a simpler time of a life gone by on the Andy Griffith Show.
