Discover Newfoundland, Labrador, and Nova Scotia – a world of breathtaking views and unspoiled nature!

1 NORTHEAST / NEW JERSEY: Welcome aboard on our adventure to Nova Scotia and The Atlantic Provinces of Newfoundland and Labrador as we travel through the Northeast to spend the night in Mt. Holly, New Jersey.

2 MASSACHUSETTS: Today is our second travel day as we make our way through Massachusetts to Tewksbury, Massachusetts for the evening.

3 FERRY / YARMOUTH, NOVA SCOTIA: We travel to Portland, Maine and board the ferry for Yarmouth, Nova Scotia.

4 DIGBY, NOVA SCOTIA / GRAND PRE / TRURO: Today we leave Yarmouth and travel to Digby, Nova Scotia for lunch. They are famous for their “Digby Scallops”. We continue toward the Minas Basin to visit Grand Pre National Park, a Canadian Village immortalized by Longfellow’s Poem – “Evangeline”. We then overnight in Truro, Nova Scotia.

5 ALEXANDER GRAHAM BELL MUSEUM / SYDNEY FERRY / ST. JOHNS, NEWFOUNDLAND: Today we travel to the heart of Cape Breton Island to Baddeck. Here we visit the Alexander Graham Bell Museum. This morning we catch the Ferry in Sydney for our ride to St Johns, Newfoundland.

6 ST. JOHNS CITY TOUR / SIGNAL HILL / CAPE SPEAR: Today we have a Local Guide give us a tour of the very old and exciting city of St. Johns, which is also the Capital of the Province of Newfoundland. We visit Signal Hill overlooking one of the most spectacular harbor entrances anywhere! We also visit Cape Spear, the most easterly point in North America. We overnight in St. Johns.

7 BONAVISTA PENINSULA / TERRA NOVA PARK: Today our Local Guide shows us the Bonavista Peninsula including the Quaint Little Town of Trinity. We drive through Terra Nova National Park. We spend the night in Clarenville, Newfoundland.

8 TWILLINGATE / GANDER / SILENT WITNESS MEMORIAL: This morning we take a side trip to visit Twillingate. There should be Icebergs in the Twillingate area which are blown into the coves during the summer. Before spending the night in Gander we visit the “Silent Witness Memorial” which is a Memorial to the 101st Airborne Crash.

9 KINGS’S POINT / DEER LAKE: Today we travel from Gander to Deer Lake for lunch and on toward Port au Choix, Newfoundland for the night.

10 ST BARBE / LABRADOR / RED BAY HISTORIC SITE: Today we enjoy a day trip to beautiful Labrador. We have an early morning depart for St. Barbe to Balnc Sablon, Quebec. We then take the Scenic Highway 510 into Labrador and on to Red Bay National Historic Site. Red Bay is the site of one of the earliest industrial complexes in the New World. Archaeologist have discovered the remains of 16th Century Basque Whaling Station and several shipwrecks in the area. We return by ferry and overnight in L’Anse-au Clair.

11 L’ANSE AUX MEADOWS NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE / ST. ANTHONY: We continue to the northernmost part of the island to the L’Anse aux Meadows National Historic Park. Here, archeologists have uncovered artifacts from a Norse Settlement dating back to about 1,000 A.D. According to the sagas, the Vikings defended this outpost against Indians until perils became too great and they withdrew to Greenland. We spend the night in St. Anthony, Newfoundland.

12 GROS MORNE NATIONAL PARK / ROCKY HARBOR / COW HEAD: Today we travel south to Norris Point for a narrated boat tour of Bonne Bay. We have time to explore the small town of Rocky Harbor. We continue heading south, stopping along the way at Gros Morne National Park, a world heritage site located on the west coast of Newfoundland. It is the second largest national park in Atlantic Canada. We then travel to Cow Head for the night.

13 PORT AU BASQUES: Today we depart Cow Head and drive around Bonne Bay to the South Shore and stop in Woody Point. We then travel to Port Aux Basques for the night.

14 FERRY / PORT AU BASQUES TO SYDNEY, NOVA SCOTIA / NEW GLASGOW: We catch the Ferry this morning and leave the Province of Newfoundland. We arrive back in Sydney, Nova Scotia in the early afternoon. We spend the night in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia.

15 WORLD’S LARGEST COVERED BRIDGE / USA / PORTLAND, MAINE: This morning while we are still in Canada we visit Hartland Covered Bridge. This is the Longest Covered Bridge in the World. We return back to the United States of America at Houlton, Maine. We travel south through the “Pine Tree State” of Maine to Bangor, Maine to spend the night.

16 MASSACHUSETTS / NEW HAMPSHIRE / CONNECTICUT / NEW JERSEY: Today we head South from Bangor. Shortly after we see the skyline of New York City, we stop to spend the night in Elkton, Maryland.

17 HOMEWARD BOUND: We leave Maryland this morning to head home with all of our memories of all the Atlantic Provinces in Canada.
