“AN OLDE ENGLISH CHRISTMAS” IRELAND & SCOTLAND TOO! OMAHA, NEBRASKA
Experience an English Christmas with an afternoon tea with the Great-Great Grandson of Charles Dickens, the Christmas Carol Musical and the Madrigal Christmas Singers. All of this is in Omaha, Nebraska.
1 ILLINOIS: Welcome Aboard! This morning we board our deluxe Motorcoach for our journey toward Mount Vernon, Illinois. We spend our first night here.
2 OMAHA / DINNER WITH MADRIGAL SINGERS CHOIR: Today we travel to Omaha and arrive for dinner at Casios Steak House. There we enjoy the music and merriment of the Madrigal Christmas Quartet. We are transported to the Renaissance years for a festive evening of Traditional Old English Hymns. We stay in Omaha, Nebraska for three nights.
3 JOLYSON CASTLE / HISTORIC MARKET / AFTERNOON TEA / IRISH CHRISTMAS EVENING: The day begins with a Scottish presentation at the historic 1903 Jolyson Castle. This stone 30 room mansion resembles a traditional Scottish castle in appearance. After a tour of the castle, the Nebraska Scottish Society will give a presentation on Scottish traditions and culture in the music room where Scottish Dancers will also perform. (Dancers depends on availability)
You are then on your own in the Old Market District for lunch. This area is the former warehouse district with brick streets and unique shops. The new Hollywood Candy Shop contains hundreds of memorabilia items from 1950’s to 1970’s era. It is a great place to do some Holiday Shopping.
After lunch we enjoy afternoon English Tea with Gerald Charles Dickens. Gerald shares his famous grandfather’s works in a one-man show, a theatrical performance of “A Christmas Carol”.
4 CITY TOUR / IRISH LUNCHEON / GINGERBREAD VILLAGE / “THE CHRISTMAS CAROL” MUSICAL: We begin our day with a Step-On Guide sharing the past, present and future of Omaha.
