Have you always wanted to go to Mardi Gras, but never had the courage to tackle the rowdiness of the New Orleans Mardi Gras? Come with us on our Cajun Mardi Gras Celebration in Lafayette, Louisiana!

1 SOUTH BOUND / MERIDIAN: We depart this morning traveling through Tennessee and Alabama on our way to Meridian, Mississippi for the night.

2 LAFAYETTE: Today we continue Southwest heading toward Lafayette, Louisiana. Upon arrival in Lafayette we will be greeted by a local guide who will take us to visit Alexandre Mouton Home, the home of Louisiana’s first democratic governor with a “Mardi Gras” themed room filled with elegant costumes of past Kings and Queens of Lafayette’s Mardi gras. Then it is on to St. John Cathedral and the Magnificent 500-Year-Old Oak. We will visit Martin Accordians before dinner tonight. We spend the next four nights in Lafayette, LA.

3 FARMERS MARKET / GRAND COTEAU / BONAPARTE PARADE: This morning we visit the local Farmers Market to view the local crafts, baked items, jams, jellies and jewelry. Browse along as you hear the Cajun Music in the air and enjoy a Mardi Gras presentation. This afternoon we will enjoy a tour of Vermilionville as well as a driving tour of the Grand Coteau. We will enjoy a nice dinner tonight before enjoying the KREWE of Bonaparte Parade.

4 ANTEBELLUM HOMES / NEW IBERIA: A local guide will join us today as we visit Shadows-on-the-Teche-Antebellum Home, Konriko Rice Mill and Company Store, the Tabasco Factory and Rip Van Winkle Gardens. Tonight is sure to be fun as we enjoy dinner at Point Breaux’s Big Ole Cajun Party! Learn Cajun dance moves, listen to the authentic music and enjoy delicious Cajun Cuisine. Tonight we will all become cajuns!

5 RICE PLANTATION / EVANGELINES PARADE: This morning we travel to Crawley, Louisiana , the Rice Capital of America. We will enjoy a full day of historic touring in the heart of Cajun Country, Acadia Parish. We will visit the old Ford Building, J.D. Miller Recording Studio, Rice Theater and Crystal Rice Plantation. Dinner is included tonight before the Queen Evangelines Parade in downtown Lafayette.

6 MARDI GRAS DAY / KING GABRIELLE’S PARADE: Today is the day! This morning we will go downtown for the Granddaddy of all Mardi Gras Parades – King Gabrielle’s Parade. Upon arrival everyone will receive a cocktail and King Cake . We will see the costume judging contest as well as hundreds of floats! This afternoon we will leave Lafayette and head back to Meridian, MS for the night.

7 HOMEWARD BOUND: We depart this morning heading toward home with our wonderful memories of Cajun Mardi Gras and Lafayette, LA.
