1 NORTHWARD BOUND
Welcome Aboard! This morning we board our deluxe Motorcoach for a journey toward Wisconsin. We overnight near Indianapolis, Indiana.
2 FRED HERMES BASEMENT BIJOU / WIND POINT LIGHTHOUSE:
Our day begins with a tour of SC Johnson & Company. This company has grown from a small flooring company to being the leading maker of household brands. From here we visit Wind Point Lighthouse, the oldest and tallest working lighthouse on Lake Michigan. This 112 foot structure was built in 1880 to warn ships away from the shallow waters off Wind Point. The Village of Wind Point has maintained the lighthouse and grounds since 1964, and uses the old keepers’ quarters as a village hall and police headquarters. We will end the day with a glass blowing demonstration before checking into our hotel.
3 KRINGLES / MILWAUKEE ART MUSEUM / CITY TOUR / PABST MANSION
No trip to Racine would be complete without a trip to a local bakery for the famous Danish Pastry known as a “kringle”. We will start our day by visiting a bakery and enjoying a cup of coffee, a kringle and learning the history of this tasty treat. We then travel to Milwaukee to watch the “wings” open on the Milwaukee Art Museum. The Pavilion contains a movable, wing-like extension that opens up for a wingspan of 217 feet during the day, folding over the tall, arched structure at night or during inclement weather. It is such a marvel to witness! Before lunch, while in Milwaukee, we will have a Step on Tour Guide spend some time with us to share the history and points of interest in this city. We have lunch at a local Brewery. After lunch we tour the Pabst Mansion, home to Milwaukee’s pioneer brewing family and five archbishops, this mansion has been restored to its original splendor. We end our day with a Narrated Sightseeing River Cruise and dinner at a local restaurant before we return to Racine.
4 HARLEY DAVIDSON MUSEUM / CHEESE CASTLE
Before leaving the area we visit the Harley Davidson Museum It is then on toward Indianapolis for the night stopping along the way at the “Cheese Castle”.
5 HOMEWARD
