1 NORTH BOUND TO MAHWAH NJ

We depart on our New England adventure today traveling North through Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania making our way to Mahwah NJ for the night.

2 CAPE COD MA

This morning we depart our hotel and cross into the “Bay State”, Massachusetts and the sandy shores of Cape Cod. Dinner will be provided at the hotel for you tonight. We will stay in the Cape Cod area for the next three nights.

3 CAPE COD & PROVINCETOWN

Lots of Cape Cod history is in store today, including Old Kings Highway, the famous Windmill, Cape Cod Lighthouse and the Cape Cod National Seashore Visitors Center. Here we will hear the history about the Pilgrims first encounters and first landing in the area. This afternoon we travel to where the Pilgrims story started, Provincetown! In this area we will be surrounded by beautiful sand dunes and ocean tides. We will see the Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum. This evening we travel to the “south side” of the Cape to the seaside village of Chatham where we will treat you to dinner before returning to our hotel.

4 HYANNIS AND SANDWICH

Today we head out to tour the first towns of the Cape….Hyannis and Sandwich. We learn stories of the Puritans, Quakers, Shawme plus much more. Then it’s onto Plymouth, one of the country’s first settlements. Here we see all the local historical Sites, Monuments, Houses and Statues. We will visit the Plymouth Plantation which is a living museum dedicated to re-creating 17th century life. Tonight, you will be treated to a traditional Turkey Dinner before returning to our hotel.

5 PLYMOUTH

This morning we visit Plymouth Rock, the traditional site of disembarkation of the Pilgrims and The Mayflower II, a reproduction of the ship that brought the Pilgrims to the New World. Here you have a “Lobster Tales Cruise” where a naturalist will teach you about food from the ocean as the Wampanoags taught the Pilgrims. After lunch, we visit the Pilgrim Hall Museum before heading back to Hyannis for the night.

6 CARISLE PA

We depart the Cape this morning traveling South through New York and into Pennsylvania where will spend the night in the Carlisle area.

7 HOMEWARD BOUND

We head home today, thinking of all the history we have learned and how far we have come since the Pilgrims settled on this land.
