1 SHENANDOAH VALLEY / BLUE RIDGE MOUNTAINS:
We elave today and make our way through the Shenandoah Valley where we stay in Wytheville.
2 EVANSVILLE:
We depart this morning and travel through West Virginia, passing through horse country of Kentucky before arriving in Evansville, Indiana where we will spend the night.
3 ST. CHARLES / HISTORIC MAIN STREET:
This morning we continue west making our way past St. Louis and into St. Charles, MO where we will check into our hotel for the next 4 nights. Tonight, we will enjoy the living version of Dickens’ classic novel “A Christmas Carol” while on historic main street as it provides the perfect backdrop as they have transformed Main street into a replica of Victorian London. All the iconic characters will “hop off the page” as guests become part of the experience, while participating in a self-guided tour through six “chapters” learning the lessons of Ebenezer Scrooge from the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future. Dinner is provided for you tonight at Big A’s on the Riverfront.
4 SACRED HEART ACADEMY / CELEBRATION OF LIGHTS:
Today we start with a tour of Sacred Heart Academy & Shrine of Saint Philippine Duchesne. Afterward, we visit Fast Lane Classic Cars to view their three huge showrooms with over 180 high quality cars, trucks, and motorcycles. This afternoon we will make a quick stop at the Foundry Art Centre. Tonight, we provide a dinner for you at Hendrick’s BBQ before attending the Celebration of Lights in O’Fallon, MO.
5 GUIDED TOUR / CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS:
This morning we are joined by a step on guide for a guided tour of St. Charles. Founded by French Canadian, Louis Blanchette, St. Charles grew into a thriving riverfront trading center for young America. Thousands passed through this town on a journey for new territory, including Lewis and Clark! This afternoon we visit the Old Town Spice Shop, and First Missouri State Capital before treating you to dinner at Tony’s on Main. Tonight, we head back to Main Street for their “Christmas Traditions” festival. The street comes alive with excitement as cries of “Merry Christmas”, “Good Yule” & “Humbug” fill the air. Carolers stroll the streets; the smell of roasting chestnuts fills the air and jingle bells can be heard.
6 SANTA PARADE / MERRY MAKERS MARKET:
Our first stop today is the Lewis & Clark Boat House and museum where they bring their remarkable journey to life. Afterward we enjoy the Santa Parade at the Christmas Traditions festival on historic Main Street. This will mark 50 seasons of St. Charles Christmas Traditions! After the parade you will spend time at the Merry Makers Market browsing all the local vendors selling their arts and crafts.
7 LOUISVILLE:
We depart from our hotel this morning and make our way to Louisville, Kentucky where we will spend our last night on the road. Tonight, we will take you to Louisville Mega Caverns where we will experience the underground Christmas Light Display.
8 WYTHEVILLE:
We make our way home this morning traveling back through Kentucky and West Virginia heading to Wytheville for the night.
9 HOMEWARD BOUND
We make our way home this morning traveling back through Kentucky and West Virginia with all our wonderful memories o Christmas Past, Present, and Future.
